Luke is one of the four Founders of JRT Partnership.  He holds a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting. 

Luke has over 13 years of experience delivering legal services to a range of clients – predominantly in the commercial, investigations, employment and sports & media service areas.


Luke provides specialist advice on issues relating to:

  • limitation and exclusion of liability
  • release and third party reliance on expert due diligence reports in private equity transactions
  • service contracts/engagement terms
  • RFP and tender contracts (public and private)
  • software licensing
  • dealings with the ACCC
  • Freedom of Information requests
  • consumer law including product labelling
  • confidentiality
  • licensing and distribution
  • brand protection including trade marks
  • intellectual property
  • company formation, regulation and mergers
  • partnerships and joint ventures
  • duties of directors and officers

Luke also has experience providing advice in relation to the interpretation and enforceability of restrictive covenants, and the procedure to vary or remove such covenants in the Supreme Court of Victoria under the Property Law Act 1958.


Luke represents individuals before high profile regulatory inquiries, including compulsory s 19 ASIC interviews.  He has also had involvement with Royal Commissions of Inquiry.

He has extensive experience in assisting clients in establishing and running their own investigations and inquiries in relation to allegations of breaches of policy or codes of conduct – including allegations of bullying, harassment, discrimination, fraud and use of illicit substances.

Luke regularly administers tribunals for disciplinary hearings and appeals.

Luke has experience in acting for a prominent national sporting federation (for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2012 London Olympics and 2016 Rio Olympics) and also one of Australian’s leading women’s sports. He provides advice on issues relating to:
